ALT 167 ?

Not had any luck googling this (ought to be simple probably is?)
In Internet explorer I used to be able to type [ALT] 167 and get a degree symbol.

But now it just closes the Tab [its possible that this is an IE8 problem sorry if that's the case]

ALT 0167 doesn't work either neither does ALT 248

Assuming that your number lock is on, does it work correctly in other applictions like notepad?

Could the default windows font or keyboard language have gotten changed? Or if it's IE only, check IE's fonts and languages in Internet Options.

º° º°" works OK in Windows 7 on IE 8 for me.

ºº = Alt + 167
°° = Alt + 248

Are you using the Numlock numbers rather than the numerals across the top of the keyboard?

Ok got it Num Lock has to be on. (and brain lock OFF)
And have to use the numeric keypad (I alway thought that was the case), knew it would be simple. Just dont remember turning off the Num Lock!
