alphabetize a string? 1

What is the function or command for alphabetizing a list, or array? The array will be different for each person who views it, so I cannot merely just push, or unshift as easily. It may consist of 20 or 30 words and/or *numbers*. So its important that numbers are organized from least to greatest, and a-z. Thanks.
