Hello everyone,
I recently re-installed Solaris 10 on a Sunfire V210 in order to get rid of the old software on it. Now I am unable to get into ALOM because I don't know the password. I've tried pressing the ESC key during ALOM boot when the following text is diplayed:
Boot sector flash CRC test
Boot sector flash CRC test, Passed.

Return to Boot Monitor for Handshake

It did bring up the ALOM boot escape menu but no option
e- Erase ALOM NVRAM. Anyone have other suggestions. Can I just install the newer version of sun's ALOM over the old one?

No need. Just follow this.

4) Use the scadm command to reset the admin password:

a) cd /usr/platform/`uname -i`/sbin
b) ./scadm userpassword admin

5) Use the escape sequence "#." to get system back to the alom login
prompt.

6) You can now log into the admin account using the password from
step 4 b).

Enjoy!
