The situation:
Aloha 6.5.34
3 Registers
1 Serial Epson TM-88 on each register
3 Epson U220's with serial interfaces (kit1, kit2, & bar) set as window's printers via Epson's Advanced Printer Drivers

The desired end result that we wanted kit1 to fail to kit2. Kit2 should fail to bar. Bar should fail to TERM2's TM-88. When testing we found that Aloha does not seem to notice if the U220's are off line or not and so nothing fails over to the TM-88 that is hung off of TERM2. Any one run into something like this?

Aloha doesn't play well with windows printers. Yo must install them using the opos driver from epson.

Cheers,
Coorsman

We tried that as well. It didn't really help.

Update. Coorsman, after reading your post and expressing my dislike of OPOS to my boss, I decided to go ahead and try again. I stripped everything windows printer or OPOS related from BOH or FOH, initated various and sundry reboots, and re-installed OPOS. Low and behold printing and appropriate rerouting was had. Thank you for the nudge in the right direction, sir! The only thing I did different this time was instead of selecting the Epson object, I selected the common object during the install. Guess that made the difference.
