Good Day Everyone,

Does anyone know if there is a cap to how many concurrent calls can be received through a call forwarded number.

The number that it is being forwarded to has 5 lines in a hunt group. So if I forward my main line to this hunt group can I make 5 concurrent calls through the one forwarded number?

Let me know if you need clarification.

Thanks,
Andrew

inbound calls are controlled by the line provider in a feature called hunting, line 1 busy hunts to line 2 and so on

so does that mean i can take 5 concurrent calls on the one number that is forwarded to this hunt group?

I think you need to clarify, because hunt groups do not contain lines they have users and calls aren't forwarded to groups they are routed with incoming call route, basically how many lines do you have? What type of lines do you have? How many users are in the group? etc etc :-)

sorry not a hunt group, a group of hunting lines.

So to summarize, I have Allstream lines, and I will be forwarding the main line to my second office where I have 5 hunting lines. So does this mean I can take 5 concurrent calls on my main number that is being forwarded? I was under the influence that allstream had a cap of 3 calls. But I can't find anyone that can confirm this for me.

Any ideas?

I think you better call them and ask, you may get lucky here... but we are IPO engineers as oppose to Allstream experts, surely they can tell you? :-)

only your provider can tell you the hunting pattern of your lines as long as they all hunt from the main number than yes you would be all set
