Allowing Authenticated Access 1

I have a ISA 2004. It is set up as a back firewall and I also have SurfControl on this 2003 std. server. My event logs identify that RPC to my domain controller fails. As such, group policy is not applied and the computer is not recognized in AD. It is on the same subnet as our DC. If I set ISA to use integrated authentication, users are prompted for Internet access. Do I need to develop a rule on the front firewall to allow this server to have RPC access to our DC? Is this occuring because it is set up as a backend firewall, instead of a caching proxy server? Any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone know of a test I could perform to determine whether my RPC is being blocked by the front firewall (which I do not have access to), or by a trust of system rule in my back firewall? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

where is the isa?

Internal LAN <---> ISA <----> Firewall <---> Internet

or

Internal LAN <---> Firewall <----> ISA <---> Internet

for RPC tests you can use RPCPing utility.
