We have an Exchange 2003 Ent. server hosting about 270 users and 1 PF tree. Management would like to allow access to a Knowledge Base Public Folder to outside clients.
Has anyone ever configured this? We (IT) do not like this idea (having to create domain user account with mailbox). We have been looking at ways of achiving Managements request without allowing access to our mail system.
I have thought about creating a second PF tree (which I believe would only be available to OWA clients) then snyc the two folders. IWe have also thought about using a Share Point server. Can a sharepoint server publish/host a Exchange PF?

Creation of another public folder tree / store with locked down permissions and a very locked down account over ssl should do the trick
