Aligning Table Vertically on Page

Hi i've created a webpage and I wanted the content to align everything vertically and horizontally. Right now i've aligned the table so that it is in the center top of the page, but now I want it to go down vertically. How do you align it so that it is in the middle of the page

set the table height to 100% and make its cell's valign to middle???

I've been embedding a table within another. make the outer table width=100% and align the embedded table to the outer

hmm I would stay away from it though....many "older designers" have hit me with 'w3c stuff' as soon as I tried to introduce it as option...I guess it is not a "true tag value"...very tricky waters
anyhow, just wanted to see your opinion on it....thanx!
