Alerter Service...accidentally deleted...HELP

I've accidentally deleted the Alerter service on one of our 2k servers using the windows 2k resource kit tool (service installation wizard). I've tried to recreate the service but when I do so... I get an error message. I think the problem has something to do with other services dependent on the Alerter service. How can I recreate this service.
