hej out there

I desperately need to be able to create a report, that
contains a workcard.db and when the deadline for this
cards reaches it schould either could change colour
like three days to expirery (yellow)and after expirery
date (red)or some kind of alert.
Or perhabs some knows an adress where i can learn more about the above mentiont problem as i am quit new to CR.

Hey.

What version of Crystal are you using? 8.5 has alerting functionality which can be accessed from the Report menu.

You can use a formula to derive the difference between CurrentDate and ExpiryDate, and when that value <= 3, then use the alert to change the colour of the field. It will also insert an alert pop up when the report is run to alert you to the fact that there are some fields which fall within the alerting criteria.

Thank you for a quick and god answer
Im using CR 9.0 but still have a lot of testing to do before i would consider my self as good user of this product.
I have in mean time got the alert thing to work but how on earth do i get different colours when using the alert function.

Use conditional formatting to get a different color.

Right click the object and select border and colors. Then click the &quot;X-2&quot; button to the right of background color, and enter a formula to determine if this record should be highlighted. For example:

If CurrentDate >{ExpirationDate} then crYellow else defaultattribute
