Hello.
I recently upgraded an IP500 V1 from V5 software to V8.
The client also changed Exchange Servers (seperate provider so little detail offered). We have alarms set to report to the clients IT Manager and through to myself.
Initially neither email received alarm messages - once we were told that the servers IP address had changed we amended that setting and emails go to the IT Manager ok, but not to me still.
I did a couple of reboots over night deleting the entry to send myself system alarms, and once again to reinstate the alarm email settings for myself.
The emails go to the client. They still do not come to me.

Q.
Can I follow them in a monitor log trace? I cannot see what setting would apply if it is possible?

thanks

They are not allowing external relay of emails from the phone systems IP address.

Thanks, as we do not seem to gel with their IT company I was hoping to show a trace record refering to the email request going from the phone system.
But I appreciate the answer all the same. Cheers.

Okay then in that case you need to install voicemail debug and run a trace in that rather than Monitor as this will show the emails trying to be sent.

just ensure you turn off tracing on everything but VMPro in the program.

Pepp77, alarms from the IPO are not send from the VM server :)
telesonic, open monitor and go to the tab "services" and see the option "SMTP" and create an alarm.
This will show what is going on.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

It was begging the question as to how you would do it for a client without VMPro.
But also, I have the latest monitor running here locally to me, and the SMTP setting is just not there!!! I was going to be gutted to see it since I searched carefully for it.
But on my Services tab I only have SNMP, not SMTP.[ponder]

OK, go to the system tab and check the option for development or similar.
I forgot the name and I cannot check the real name.
The try again.

TLP - yeah of course they don't, silly me.

do you have VM Pro installed on a server you manage / have access to? if so, install IIS and SMTP on it, then relay off that :)
