i do not mean to sound immodest when i say i am good at taking tests. there are several tricks that anyone can use to increase their scores on tests, particularly multiple-choice tests. the IBM tests are not quite so simpleminded in design as your driver's license test, however, so some study is required.
firstly, obtain the summary of items which might be asked about on the test. go through that list and make sure you understand each item. if that is not possible, don't worry too much, you only need to get 2/3 of the questions right. also note the officially-correct answer, it might differ from the actual or practical answer. you must give the answers IBM is looking for.
secondly, decide on a letter to choose when you do not have any idea as to what the answer is. C is a good choice since statistically the middle value is more often the correct answer, and you increase your chances of guessing correctly if you always choose that same letter. that statement would not be true in a truly random case, it relies on a human design error and the IBM tests probably compensate for the "C Rule".
lastly, use what you know to eliminate as many answers as possible. it is better to have to guess from two answers rather than four or five.
