What is your motherboard make and model, and what graphics card do you have ? Also, under what OS is your PC running ?
As for playing games "nicely", that depends also on how much RAM you have, its type and speed, on what CPU you have and on which chipset your motherboard is fitted.

Some Windows settings may also cause problems. For example, in Win98se, if the virtual memory was set to auto, then Quake III had terrible framerates on my system. I set the vram to a fixed size of 512MB, and the choppiness went away like magic.
But in XP, the vram size has much less influence and I've found that, globally, it is better to let the OS deal with it.

If your PC is getting old, the only "solution" could be an upgrade. Whatever the 3D card, you're not going to run Far Cry on a 500Mhz Pentium III !

Pascal.

Yeah, the problems you're having should have nothing to do with your AGP aperture setting. Adjusting it may give a slight performance gain at best, but often times the wrong setting can greatly hurt performance. It's best to leave it at the default 64MB unless you've looked at everything else first.

Knowing the following would help:

1) version of Windows
2) system specs (motherboard, cpu, RAM, etc).
3) make/model of video card

You forgot to indicate what is the make and model number of the motherboard, as well as what your video card is.

A 64MB video card can be any of 200+ models. 3D or not 3D ?

And we now know you have a Pentium motherboard, but there are still to many kinds to make a useful suggestion.

Pascal.

the model of mother board is MS 6577 (MSI) and the video card is RV250LE ati radeon 9000
now can anybody suggest me what to do??

when i run aida32 the system information software it is showing as
AGP properties:

AGP Version 2.00
AGP Status Disabled
AGP Aperture Size 64 MB
Supported AGP Speeds 1x, 2x, 4x
Fast-Write Supported, Disabled
Side Band Addressing Supported, Disabled

Problems & Suggestions
Problem AGP is disabled. This may cause performance penalty.

Integrated Graphics Controller
