AGP and PCI Express

Hi,

IF I have a AGP slot, can I suppose the onboard video card is a onboard AGP video??

Same question with PCI-Express.... IF I have a PCI Express slot, can I suppose the onboard video card is a onboard PCI Express video??

Instead of assuming, just check the MB's or computer manuf's specs.
If you do not have the specs, then a utility like Everest will list what's there.

your onboard video is neither, its onboard, means integrated in the chipset.

Actually not really. A good example is Intel's old 810 chipset for the PIII. It only had onboard video as an option, which used an AGP bus/controller as its connection to the Northbridge.

You are the only one saying anything about it being "integrated in the chipset". Onboard video is onboard video, regardless of what catch phrase you want to use. Many vendors used to call it "onboard AGP video" but now you usually just see it called "integrated video".

Look up the specs on the 810 chipset on google and you will see what I'm talking about. There are dozens of other examples I can look up if needed.

Bottom line is that onboard video in motherboards manufactured since 1999 are almost always AGP.
