We have a room full of agents - each with two seperate mailboxes. We would like to have each agent with only a single mailbox. Preferrably the agent mailbox.
Some dealers know the agents DID number so we are getting calls in both the regular extension and agent mailboxes from other agents and the vector steps. We would like to route incoming calls to a coverage path that would deposit calls into a specified agent mailbox.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

How about this?

Set the "second" voicemail box up to be a bulletin board. Have the zero option go to the "first" vm box.

Then have the reps leave a message on the second vm box, "hi this is so and so, if you'd like to leave me a message please press 0 now"

The only other way I can think of is to make a bunch of different coverage paths for the second extensions with the first extension as the coverage point.

Why don't you just make the agent IDs the DID and the give the station a non-DID ext from the dial plan? This would obviously have to be coordinated with the people involved with reporting, time and attendance systems, etc..

Hi,
If your team is not too big, you can make a coverage path leading to a VDN linked to a vector with one step "messaging skill XX (hunt nr voicemail) for extension XXXX " where XXXX is either agent or station number. You can assign this cov path to both agent and station.
On the agent's station form, assign XXXX to the field "Message lamp ext.".
This message lamp will then lit when the agent gets messages ANd when its DID station also does.
If your team is 20 people big, you have to make 20 VDNs and 20 vectors.

I hope this will help you...

Tandem mailbox (a green feature) will allow 2 different mailboxes to be trated like one.

These all sound very good. There are about 100 agents in this group. I really like the cov path to vdn, but I think I will keep that one under my hat, since this group is already a major programming chore.
ramjef97, in which release is the tandem mailbox feature?
I have done a search on Avaya, but cannot find this feature.

Thanks to everyone for all of the suggestions!

Set one of the two boxes up as an automatted attendant (page 2, Type), go to page 3 and put in the second bottom field (Timeout) under extension the second subscriber under treatment 'call-answer' and under Length of Timeout On Inital Entry 0 seconds.
The caller will be redirected from the first called subscriber to the second subscriber.

Tandem mailbox is a Audix feature. I currently have release 4.4 for Audix. I found that most business partners don't know what it is.

Here is a summary of Tandem Mailbox:
Tandem mailbox is a feature of our Audix voicemail system. It is an option that was not turned on during the initial installation. This feature provides a means to link mailboxes together such that a message delivered to the first mailbox also appears in the second mailbox. This feature will be transparent to the user. They will not change the way that they access they voicemail and they will not need to access two separate voicemail boxes for their messages.

You guys are missing the easiest and zero-cost solution.

Delete the station subscriber box. Then on the agent subscriber box, keep the agent login as the extension number and put the station number as the secondary ext. Make sure the coverage path on the agent login is the same as the station (the coverage path that points to the voice mail system).

Calls to either the station or agent login will then be handled by the same mailbox!
