Hi,

I have installed java plug-in 1.3.1_09, because I need exactly this version of java.
But when starting Internet Explorer 6 and start web page with java I get error: "Java is not enabled".

What should I check out?

Thanks,
Grofaty

In IE, Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, Java (Sun), do you have the Java VM enabled?

Hi, Bcastner is right this is the first thing to check.

If this doesn't do it, check in control panel, add/remove programs/configure default programs.

ensure that your sun java is the default java virtual machine.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if this resolve your issue

Yep, there are two versions of Java here: Sun's Java and Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine.

Some websites are designed to incorporate both, but you may have to fiddle around with the following combinations:

1) Sun Java disabled, Java VM enabled
2) Sun Java enabled, Java VM disabled
3) Both enabled

Make sure you close all IE windows and reopen IE after making any of the above changes for it to take effect.

Hi,

I have figured out what was the problem. I have installed "Flash and Pics Control" from and click "Enable Java Applets". But it looks like there is a bug, because if check box is enabled then java doesn't work and if disabled then works.

So, I have solved my problem, no more help is needed.

Thanks,
Grofaty

What check box was it that you're talking about? Just curious...
