We have an attendent that answers are main lines during the day and transferes the call to the approriate person but after hours we put the switch into night mode and everything is answered by the auto attendant. From the autoattendent it gives you the option if you know your partys extension that you can dial it. This works fine for any of our extensions in the 2xx 3xx or 4xx range. But the phone numbers that are in the 5xx range are not able to be dialed after hours. Is there some where in the switch a table that tells what extensions can be called from the auto attendant?

The reason this became a problem is that we use x555 for our helpdesk and have offsite users that may need to call in before or after our switchboard attendant is around.

look at your dial by dn in the pilot, or mermail.. the 1st digit 5 has to be allowed.. if it;s not blocked there, it's blocked in the rpl's

I'm fairly new to doing anything with this switch we are running on an older relase of the code rel23 i believe and using meridian mail.

where would i find this info in mermail. i know how to get logged in but do not know what menu option it would be under.

thanks for the help

I found the Restrict Permit list under merdian mail and removed the listing that blocked 5 now it allows me to 0 out to that extension but i still am unable to go directly to that extenaion. the way are menus are setup you have to press 1 then the 3 digit extension then pound. this works for all numbers in the 2xx 3xx and 4xx ranges but not our 5xx range when you try a number say 555 it says that number cannont be reached from this service. and askes for the number again.

I ended up finding the settings i need under the voice services thru dial options there was a restrction there blocking calling 5. After i removed that it appears to work now. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction
