I am receiving this error message... ae0312 unexpected error occurred in client agent. job failed.... when i try to restore my system state. I also receive the error aw0272 reboot (my server name) in order to replace restored active files. When i reboot the server it dies and can't load OS. Has anyone had this problem. I can't find any info anywhere. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi,

This could be possible a faulty restore..

The client agent will place a temporary file for each active file to the original location.
after reboot the original files will be replaced by this temporary files
This information will be stored in the following registrykey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session
Manager\PendingFileRenameOperations.

Please delete the entry PendingFileRenameOperations which contain a list of all files which will be replaced after reboot

This should stop the server from dying on a reboot..

you would then need to debug why the restore failed?

Are you restoring back to the original location?

How exaclty are you performing this restore. ?

So it Shall be Written!
So it Shall be Done!!

thanks for replying

i am restoring using brighstor 11.1 and am trying to restore from backup tape of my real DC to a DC in a test domain. When i perform the restore I select to restore the data to the original location.

I hate to sound stupid but how would i debug the restore to find out why it failed? thanks again for your help

HI,

the DC on the test..

does it have the SAME IP Address as of the original DC ?

if not set the IP as the original and restore again..
