Advice on Real Player

For some reason lately, I find that Real Player no longer works on my PC. For instance, when I click on a sound track in the Music section of Amazon.com, I get an error message to the effect "cannot read this file." No problem, I'll just Google Real Player, download the latest version, and I'll be all set. But what I find is some deal where, in order to download the program, I either have to download it bundled with a zillion other programs I don't want offered by Google.com, or I have to pay for the program I download from realplayer.com. Is there no pared-down free Real Player program available? Or am I missing something?

I personally detest real player, as you say, its full of other rubbish you dont want.

I have found a way to play ram files etc without real player! Its called real alternative, google it or use this link...

Thanks! Real Alternative sounds like exactly what I need.
I can't stand these programs that load you up with all those "extras" that you neither want nor need.
