Question for those of you who have used the remote hot desking capability:

Would a site B hotdesk user be able to hotdesk onto site A during an outage affecting the link between sites? The sites would have 4.1 software with the appropriate advanced networking licensing.

I'm guessing that this would not be possible, but I thought I'd check with those who may have run across this scenario. Perhaps the users are 'learned' upon initial link and make this possible for the feature...I appreciate any feedback! Z

from what the knowledgebase says if they are hot desked in and the link is broken between sites they will still work for 24hrs. but that would be before the power outage.

Thanks for your reply. If there's an outage to begin with, I'm guessing that the feature cannot be initiated...

The scenario is a customer interested in having the ability to hotdesk onto Main site A if link to remote site B is down for a length of time. Z

If there is no connection then you can not hotdesk
The ipoffice will learn the extensions of all other sites
If the ipoffice can not learn you ar enot able to login remotely
