We have an ADSL connection here. I would like to allow clients outside to dial their local ISP and then tunnel their way into the server (SBS 4.5) and do the mail thing etc.

Can anyone give me a pointer to a good resource for guideace on this. Many thanks

You could use Windows 2000 RRAS services to create a VPN server. This VPN server would need a port opened on your firewall to allow users to access it's IP from the internet.

There is a client a MS client piece that would be needed on the clients.

You could also go third party for this. For example, Check Point firewall components could do this...Check Point is a probably a better more secure solution if you are doing this for many clients.

I would search Technet to RRAS and VPN for more information.

-hope this helps. Joseph L. Poandl
