Hi I need some help, I have an internal network that has 2 win2K servers with dns, and a d-link di-604 router to get online. Every so often i go to use the internet and i get a host not found from Netscape, all my computers less the 2 servers get all ip info from my dhcp.

So what's the question? Are your Win2K servers running as DNS servers for your network? Are they not able to resolve external IP's? Is your DHCP server not handing out the DNS server addresses?

Chris.

Right, yes my dns servers handle all internal dns stuff and then for an internet site they look to my isp's dns, but some times they cant find my isp. I have both root hints and forwaders on, do i need to nurn 1 off? all my computers get dns from my dhcp.

Okay, when you client fail to resolve DNS from your server, you'll need to check the server and determine why it can't do the forward lookup. Ensure that the ISP's DNS servers are correct.

ok, I have made sure that the isp dns servers are right and that all the computers talk to my servers then my isp. I cant see any thing wrong, mabe you could try a ping to

deeks.no-ip.info

When your users can't get on, try a path ping and see where the packet gets dropped.
