OK here's my problem on our Win XP Pro system the local admin's account has no problems running HP Director (HP scanner software), but when any network user logs in they will get the following error when clicking the icon.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program...<path to exe>
abnormal program termination

The admin is logging in to the local machine while the rest of the users log in to the domain. I have tried granting full access to the .exe, but users still receive this error. Any idea's folks?

thanks Never be afraid to ask for help!

Does making domain users members of local Power Users group help (or if no good local Administrators group)

I have not tried but I will. If that works though I am not sure the network folks want users to have power user privs. They may mess things up? Never be afraid to ask for help!

Its only local privilege - not on the network.
