I wasn't too smart and deleted the generic Administator user on my tablet a while ago. Now I can't use any of the MS Office Small Business Edition 2003 programs on my Windows XP Tablet sp3. Perhaps the generic Administrator account was logged in when Office was installed originally before I purchased this tablet? Anyway, now I am not able to use any of the Office aps such as Word, Excel or Outlook. Each wants an Install when I click the icon. Not really sure if this all happened at the same time. Can I recreate the Administrator user and sill it fix this?

Hi. These don't seem related. Any other ideas?

Hi. No luck. I did discover that I still have an Administrator login but my issue is unsolved. Still no Office aplications are useable. Will I need to Remove then Reinstall? Any concerns?

If you still have Admin privileges then by all means, let Office install what it needs...

or uninstall Office then install it fresh...

and to prevent this from happening again, install it for ALL users (if there is an option for it to do so)...

Hi. In Control Panel - Add Remove Programs, when I am logged in as an Administrator, under Microsoft Office 2003 Web Components, showing Uprdates, it lists Office 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3) OWC11SP3 with no button for Change or Remove. Then under Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003, there is a Change and a Remove button and a lot of updates are listed, starting with Update For Office 2003 (KB907417) OTKLOADR dated Installed on 12/24/2005 with no Change or Remove buttons and then a lot of Security Updates.
My concern is that, right now, if I insert the Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003 OEM SOFTWARE cd that came with and installed on my RedTablet, it will not run an install program when it starts up. The display show a group of files that are on the cd, listing Files file folder, OWC10.MSI, OWC11.MSI, README.HTM, SETUP.EXE, SETUP.HTM and STDP11N.MSI. I have the Product Key to use, if Office would install. It is printed on the cd envelope and shows up as the same in a report made by Belarc Advisor as the Product Key used when Office was installed.
Dbl click Setup.exe on the cd runs Installer, then a box pops up stating This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package. OK.
Not sure what to do. Is the installed version of Office keeping this cd from showing anything when I load it?
