Hi-
setting up some computer for some teachers, XP Pro default Compaq install plus all updates. I put a computer in a teacher's room that was still the administrator account with no password. She hooked it up herself and started making files. Since I don't want teachers to have admin rights, I went in and:
-Assigned a password to Administrator.
-Created an user for myself called Admin (I hate having to type out Administrator) with same password as Administrator.
-Created a limited user account for the teacher with password.
-Transferred all her files (I thought) to shared folders.
-Logged out of Administrator and into Teacher's user, moved all her files from shared into her Documents and Desktop.
----
Turns out I somehow missed a folder on her Desktop, still findable with Search as being on Documents and Settings/Administrator/Desktop but not accessible from the teacher's account nor the Admin account. I tried starting in Safe Mode and logging in as Administrator, but now the password I set does not work. I tried to copy the directory in a DOS window, but I did not have permission, even logged in as Admin.
It suddenly dawned on me that Windows might be funny about having an account called Admin. Is this known that calling an account that makes the Administrator password not work?
Is there a simple fix to this, or am I doomed to have to try to reset the password? Note: I opted NOT to encrypt my files when I set up the Administrator password.
Any help, much appreciated.
