Good day
I'm sure this question has been answered before, so if you could point me in the right direction I will be grateful.

I have multiple IPO sites. I use to connect to them through my ISDN modem and S08. My S08 was damage in a storm so now I can't use my ISDN modem. Please could you help me setup a connection from my pc to use the IPO to connect to my remote sites?

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Regards

if you have a PC local to the other IPO with a modem in it you could dial into the modem and connect to the network that way then connect to the IP Office.
The way to do this is create a user on the PC for that purpose, create an incoming connection on the PC for that user, then it will assign you an IP address in the other network and you can just broadcast to the IPO done.

Thanks for your response, but i would like to connect from my PC over my lan, then IPO to IPO over a BRI trunk. Hope it makes sence...

IPO to IPO connection?
are you trying to make a SCN with it?
The only other thing coming to mind is a VPN connection to get them together.

No I’m not trying to make a SCN. Basically I want to dial into my clients IPO to do support for them. Like I said I used an ISDN modem before. Now I want to create a service on my IPO to dial into my client.

I guess you need some kind of modem and if your S08 is fried then I am afraid I have no answer for that. I use a modem built into the VM Pro PC then usually use VNC to get into the VM Pro PC so that the config stays local and doesn't go through my dialup, analog lines or PRI only.
The other way to do it is maybe with Logmein.com that you can install on a PC locally then use that PC to make all the changes, works great even the free version of Logmein.

Thanks for your imput.

I'll play around with it some more. I know it can be done because my boss used it.

You need to create a RAS dialup service for each remote IPO you need to administer on the Home IPO. You need to build routes to each remote IPO to each service. Set the Default gateway of your PC to the IPO Lan address. When you try to connect to the IP address of the remote ipo (not broadcast) you will trigger a dialout from your home IPO.

Should work, never done it like this, always used an So8.

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Each system must have a unique IP Route to RemoteManager:
Site 1 192.168.99.1/32 > RemoteManager
Site 2 192.168.99.2/32 > RemoteManager
Site 3 192.168.99.3/32 > RemoteManager
etc.

In your IP Office create a Normal Service, name it Site 1 or whatever the name of the site is, fill in the user credentials: RemoteManager, thepword and enter the telephone number to dial, then go to the IP Tab end fill in the ip address as above for the specific site like for Site 1 : 192.168.99.1 mask 255.255.255.0

Now you have to create a IP Route for each site:

192.168.99.1/255.255.255.255 dest= Servicename ( Site 1 )

The last thing to do is set the IP Office in your PC as the default gateway OR create persitant routes on your laptop.
DOS box : add route -p 192.168.99.0 mask 255.255.255.0 ip office ip adress

That should be enough

Thanks for all your help, but just one question. When i ping my remote sites ip address should i not get a pop up window asking me for my credentials and when i'm connected i can ping there network but can't access any thing not even there IPO.

If you can ping the remote sites why do you need ISDN 2 connection???

Open Manager and put the remote sites IP address in the search box bottom left, then click REFRESH. This should bring up your remote site.

If it doesn't, set you PC's gateway to be your IP. If you have networked systems, IP routes should be there are you are away.

Simple as that.

Football is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

I can connect to my remote site using a service that i created. I can access the IPO on that side as well. But i would like to create a connection from my PC and have a pop up for authentication... Any ideas...?

You cannot do that with a setup like this, in fact you cannot do that at all with IP Office.

so we are back to dialing into a PC on site

if all else fails buy a little viva usb terminal adaptor and dail up the old fashioned way!

but as above we use our IPO to dial another IPO via IP routes and services via each IPO's telephone number.

Thanks guys.... Got every thing working... Works like a charm....
