I believe in the tools section of the install software, there is a utility that will allow you to reset the default account passwords.

but if we use this tool we can restore the account to default value without loss the customer configuration??

Thanks

Yes. You start the software install tool, use the password reset tool, then exit without installing either system software or database.

Yes, or there is a password reset procedure in the System Security Management NTP's that is non-intrusive (IE no rebooting to the install menu and interrupting service). It depends on your release of PBX, but you need install media typically. In either case you need install media and to be physically present on site to "validate" that you're authorized to have access to the PBX.

what media I will need (CF 512 MB or 64MB ...etc)..?

You need the media that contains the install software.

Again, this depends on the release and type of your PBX. You need to look up the System Security Management Fundamentals NTP for your release; there are reset procedures. If they're not clear, you'll need to go to an authorized vendor. We don't assist in password retrieval / reset beyond that here, it gets people in trouble ;) I tend to cause enough trouble as it is hehe.

For example, in release 7.5, it is NTP:
Security Management Fundamentals
Avaya Communication Server 1000
NN43001-604
This would include UCM-related procedures, which it sounds like you don't have.

For 5.5, it would be NTP:
Nortel Communication Server 1000
Security Management Fundamentals Release: 5.5
NN43001-604 (same NTP number, but this one is older).

Password reset
Use the procedures in this section to reset passwords on the call server,
or on other devices.
Use the following procedure to reset an individual password on the call
server, and lock out all other accounts. To protect against unauthorized
use, Nortel has deliberately designed the password reset mechanism to
require the user to be physically present in the switchroom to complete the
procedure. The system also logs each attempt to reset a password. The
system password reset procedure described in this section replaces all
previously available methods of password override or password reset.
Procedure 90
Resetting call server passwords by using the CLI
Step Action
1 At the call server prompt, press Ctrl+pdt to
enable PDT mode on the call server.
A prompt appears, requesting a user name.
2 Instead of entering a user name, enter resetPWD.
The Password Reset Mechanism is initiated, and the following
message appears:
PDT login on /tyCo/0
Username: resetPWD
*************************************************
* WARNING: All attempts to use the Password Reset
Mechanism *

* are logged. In order to proceed, you will need
*
* physical access to the Call Server. *
************************************************
If you do not wish to proceed, enter the word
QUIT, otherwise
enter the PWD2/Admin2 userID:
SEC026 Password override mechanism was used to
gain access to the switch
3 Enter either:
QUIT to exit without resetting any passwords,
OR
<user>, where <user> is a PWD2 level user name.
If the user name you enter exists on the system, it is the target of
the password reset. If the user name you enter does not exist on the
system, a new PWD2 level account is created.
4 When prompted, insert the install media in the disk drive or PC
Card slot. You must complete this step within 60 seconds, or the
Password Reset Mechanism cancels.
5 Press Enter.
6 Enter the new PWD2 password.
7 Reenter the new PWD2 password.
8 Remove the install media from the drive.
The system changes the password for the account (or creates a
new account and assigns it the new password) and locks out all
other accounts. The system marks the new password as expired,
so the user must change it on their next log on. If the account is
locked because the user exceeded the Failed Log in Threshold, the
system unlocks it.
These changes are distributed the next time an EDD takes place,
usually within 24 hours. To force an immediate EDD, see "Force an
EDD using overlays"
