This may sound a really stupid question but we have recently added a Novell Netware 5 server to our network (all the other servers are Netware 3.12) and I can't for the life of me work out how to add new users to it. So far I have got around this by renaming existing users and setting the network rights accordingly via NWADMIN but it won't let me create new ones.

Am I missing something really obvious?

Thanks in advance.

Are you selecting the create option and getting an error? Basically, you have to highlight an Organizational Unit to be able to get the Create function.

In NetWare Administrator, an Organizational Unit has the green-type icon with branches coming out of it (poor description, sorry!). You would double-click on an OU (Organizational Unit) to open the branch and list the users underneath. Once the OU is selected, choose Create from the Objects menu.

"It's true, its damn true!"

So in nwadmn32 if you highlight the container in which you want to create users in, then go to object, create, then you get a 'new object' box, choose user. Do you get that far or get to the 'create user' box? Do you get an error msg?

Thanks guys. In NWADMIN I was getting "Object could not be created in this context". However, I hadn't found NWADMN32 (I'm used to SYSCON and SYSCONW!), which lets me create users fine.
