Adding Titles

I need help with adding titles. when i adding a title prtl file I can only see either the video or the title screen. how can i combine the two so i can see both?

Are you using the Titler inside Premiere or are you creating the title in another app?

.prtl files are made with the Premiere 6.5 titler.

To make them see-through, the title must be placed on V2 track or higher. Safest to let Premiere apply automatic transparency until you gain more experience, so don't go via V1 on the way to V2.

doh...I never paid attention to the format name for titles in Premiere. I don't use the titler much. I usually make my own with Photoshop.
