adding things to images?

Hey all, I was wondering if there was a way that I can add things to my image. I have n image of a map of my local area and I would like to have my user be able to click on different areas on the may to display information on specific local things in the area. How is this possible? Thanks
 
What you want can be acomplished creating an Imagemap.


Basically imagemaps define clickable areas in an image that can be used to send the suer to different pages, or to show different content.

The link provides a tutorial on how to create one, it uses a menu but you can use your amp image just the same. Just a question of defining the areas that can be clicked and what is shown when they are clicked.
