I have a user that would like to add the same printer onto his machine so he can change the settings on them.
E.G. if he wanted to print A3 one of the printers can be set to default to A3 while the other stays A4.
The problem is when he installs the printer and changes the name this also changes the name on the server.
Is it possible to have two of the same printers on one machine and how is this done.

Thanks All

Marzy.

Yes, it's possible. Assume you have an existing printer called A3. Create another printer on the server that points to the same device and call that one A4. The user should now be able to add both networked printers to his workstation.
This is especially helpful if you want to test a new driver or setting.

Hope this helps!

Either Tahoe2's suggestion, or you could create a TCP/IP printer port on the client machine.
