Adding Fields to a replication Databse

Hi,

I need some help adding fields to a database that has been setup for snapshot replication.

If I try to add the fields using Query Analyser using Alter Table it returns the following message:

Warning: Columns added to the replicated table table 'CNTS' will be ignored by existing articles.

Is it possible to add fields to the database without touching the replication?

What is the best way to add fields to database?
