I installed a new Netgear NIC on an HP Brio running Win98 and am not able to add a Client or Adapter. When I go to first add the Client, it will let me choose Microsoft, Client for Microsoft Networking, and then I click Add and it brings me right back to the "Select Network Component Type" dialog, but never adds the client. It does the same thing if I try to add a protocol. I tried a different NIC and changed slots, removed all protocols, tried again and nothing works. Can anyone provide me with some insight here?

After u click on Add and choose Client for Microsoft Networking it will ask u to provide the WIN98 files.

Did the drivers for the nic install OK? Does the device manager show the nic as working properly?

The drivers installed fine and Device Manager says it is working properly. I'm never prompted for the Win98 cd, just goes right back to the "select protocol" dialog. ???
