I need to be able to subtract or add values which are in Feet and Inches.

Ex.

18'3" - 3'6" = 14'9"
or
3'4" + 5'8" = 9'0"

I have no idea where to begin. I need to be able to have the values in the format above.

Thanks,
Chris

I think the best way to handle this would be to first convert both values from feet and inches to just inches (inches plus feet / 12), do your addition/subtraction, and then convert it back to feet an inches. Look at the MOD function to find the remainder inches.

Hope that helps... Terry M. Hoey

You may want to keep the feet and inches in separate form/record fields. Otherwise, you'll have to parse through the entry in order to separate the feet from the inches values by using the InStr function (first looking for ' and then for ").
