Adding additional DN to 500 set

Hey Everyone,

I'm hoping that someone can help with a programming query.

External calls into our site are set to hit DN 3999 which is the pilot DN for a hunt group. The first DN of this hunt group is DN 4000 which is added as KEY 04 MCR 4000 on four digital M3820 handsets.

This setup works fine and allows inbound external calls to be taken on any of these phones.

However, we have some DECT phones (C4060's) attached to a DMC Meridian DECT card. These sets are programmed as 500 type analogue sets and have DN's in the range 2040 - 2050.

I'd like to get external calls which are hitting the hunt group to also ring on these DECT phones - but I can't simply add MCR 4000 as a button on these analogue sets and don't want to replace the existing DN on the handsets as this would remove the ability to directly call the individual handset.

Can anyone suggest a workaround that would allow one or two of the DECT phones to receive calls to the 4000 DN?

I've done some digging through the forum and it looks like MCRA (Multiple Call Arrangement Allowed) or Phantom DN's may help, but I have to admit I'm straying outside of my limited knowledge!

Thanks to you all,

Phil.

If you have some type of loud bell, or if the DECT user has another way of knowing a call is ringing, you could add the set to a pickup group, and then the users of the DECT set could use call pickup to answer the ringing call.

Hi Allenmac,

I saw this suggestion elsewhere, but unfortunately it wouldn't work for us.

This setup is in a retail environment, and they have the external calls ringing into a "backoffice" area away from clients. The people who are using the cordless phones will be going back and forth between the front and backoffice areas and we don't want to have phones ringing in the front area where they will disturb clients.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Phil.

did not read your dissertation, but.. you can have all the dn's you want on any set..

ld 23
new
acd
1234 (the dn to add)
maxp 1
ncfw 4444 (the number on a working set)

return back to request.... ignore the other 400 prompts.. it's called a maxp 1 acd and you could send 100's of dn's to the same analog..

another way to do that for JUST external is ld 49.. prt idc.. if you have one, add to it.. if not build a new idc the add the table number to your inbound route
