ADDING A SOUNDSTATION2, ANALOG OR DIGITAL ON A CICS

A client has a CICS 7.1 Norstar™, and wants to add a Polycom Soundstation2 for their new conference room with a large and long table. Any good or bad points, or experiences as to whether it is analog or digital?

Analog you will need a adapter or if you go digital you will need a Digital Adapter PY-ITA-CONEX

The CICS should have an IATA for any analog device. The analog Polycom is a little cheaper than the Norstar ones. Also more variety.

Analog - SoundStation VTX 1000 with 2 extended microphones will give you a little better performance/sound than the Sounstation2 for those large board rooms.

Analog is cheaper but it's always a task for most customers to learn how to do features on ie. conference, transfer, etc. Where as on the digital ones it's much much easier, it comes down to how much money they want to spend in most cases.

Except the OP said it's a long table. The digital has no extension mics. SoundStation VTX 1000 would be my choice.

Thanks everyone for your input on this. I looked at the specifications on the NTAB4213, but as allworxguy mentioned you can't add extension microphones. One of the owners asked about having extension mics with the extended length of the table. So, I will recommend the analog VTX1000, and go from there. I plan to use the I-ATA for the station port of the SoundStation.
