I am having problems getting a new prefix to work. (The prefix is 826 and is part of a NEXTEL number) I can dial the number from my Nextel without any problems. If I dial through the definity, I get a telephone company message that says "the call cannot be completed as dialed. Dial the area code and number". The following information is what is listed in the ARS digit table:

dialed string 826, total digits (min, max) 7,7, route pattern 8, call type hnpa

Is there something else I should be looking at to fix this?

what does route pattern 8 look like, and what does "list ars route 826" give you?

the specifics from route pattern 8 are group 1, FRL 6, NPA 913, Pfx Mrk 1

"list ars route 826" brings up the information from my previous post, except that the dialed string shows up as 8 instead of 826.

have a look at the ARS digit conversion sounds like whenever 8 is being dialed there is some kind of digit conversion happening. Also have a look at the trunk group you can delete and add digits there.

I have checked the digit conversion tables and there does not appear to be anything happening when 8 is dialed.

First try the command
List ars ro 826xxxx
and see if it is actually using the route you think it should.
If it is not taking the route you want look at other ars entries that to see if you can figure out what pattern its using.
If it is using the route you want, it may be something with the route settings. You could start by creating a new route using the same settings, change ars to the new route and then play with the settings to find what works. It could be something like a change of the pfx mrk.

The problem appears to lie with the telephone company. I did a facility test call to the number we were having problems with, and still received the phone company's network message. I had another person call from a phone outside our switch and they got the same thing. This must be a brand new prefix and it does not appear that our CO is setup for it.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.
