I have created a new user and when I did this it asked me if I wanted to create an exchange mailbox which I did.

However I can't get the user to be recognised when I am setting the profile up on the PC. By this I mean using Mail in Control Panel. It recognises my exchange server but not the new user.

When I use check name is does not recognised even though I put in the right name.

Is there another setting I need to add in when adding a mailbox?

My apologies for this query - I have not use exchange before.

Just a thought.

Have you logged on as the end user who you are trying to create the mapi profile for?

AD may not have replicated your new mailbox to the AD server the desktop accesses. Wait a bit until they appear on the GAL.

Setup the profile NOT using Cached mode first. After if configures you may re-enable Cached mode.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark

It was a problem with the exchange server itself. After a reboot all was well.

Thanks.

Gavin.
