Everyday, many times a day, I need to use the "Run As" command for two different programs. On my previous computer, my admin account showed up as a choice in "The Follwing User" dropdown box. On my new computer it is no longer there. How do I add my admin account to that list so that it is in the dropdown list? I would be more than willing to remove other names in that list.

I have tried logging into the machine with my admin account and that works for that time, but the name does not stay in the list.

I have not been able to find anything in the Microsoft Support that helps me.

Thanking you in advance.

Generally it populates the list with users that belong to the local Administrators group, at least thats what I see on my boxes here.

If you really want to speed things up you can use a bat file to run the app with the runas configed into the shortcut.

runas /user:<domain_name>\<user_name> <program_name>

Ex.
runas /user:d1\Administrator eventvrw

This example would still prompt you for a password but the user would already be properly configured in the box.

Use a runas wrapper application and you do not have to worry about it.

See Forum member Greg Palmers's nifty little application:
With the wrapper the security of the Administrator priviliged username and password are ensured because they are not revealed in plaintext.

Jeff Sontag - Sorry, no, it's not configurable and it doesn't remember previously used names. It lists only usernames explicitly listed in the BUILTIN\Administrators group, as well as Client Authentication certificates in the current user's Personal cert store, including smart cards. (You can run certmgr.msc to see your certs). "

Thank you all so much for your timely and informational replies!

I added the login I want to the administrator group for right now, but will try some of the other suggestions soon. Thanks again.
