I have a user who is extension 1108. She wants a DID, but all of our DID's are in the 6700 to 6800 range. She wants to keep her same extension though. We are using 6408D+. Can anyone give me some direction? I have been strictly NEC NEAX2400 for almost three years and going back to avaya is tough.

Hi
What does digit treament say on page 1 ?

PBX

If the DID is via PRI T1, you can do digit translations on the trunk group and replace 1108 with something like 6708.

Or you could create a VDN 6708 with a vector that routes to extension 1108.

Or you could create a x-port 6708 and bridge it onto her phone as an additional call appearance.

Or you could create a hunt group 6708 with 1108 as the only member. Voicemail may be an issue with this one though.

Hopefully one of those helps.

Several ways around;
just two: If you are on PRI, you should be able to set the conversion on the trunk page:
INCOMING CALL HANDLING TREATMENT
Service Called len Called Del insert
public-ntwrk 9 123456708 5 1108

another way to do it, is create a 'virtual' set on 1108,
that has bridged appearences on 6708 or the other way around.

What port do I assign for a virtual?
Is it the same command? Add Station?

Ok...I added the DID as a virtual using X in place of the port..... I then added a brdg-appr to the phone that needs the DID. It works, But When the appearance rings in on the button, it rings silently. Is there a way to change this?>

Set "bridged call alerting" to yes on 1108's station form. Also make sure to add the new DID as the secondary extension of 1108 in audix.

I would simply create the 'X' ported DID extension with a cover path which sends all calls to cover where the first point of cover is a cover-answer-group with 1108 as the only member. If they want VM on the DID make the next point on the cover path your Audix hunt grp.
