Adding a DID to our PRI 2

I am porting over a number from another building into our PRI as a DID number. How do I add that as one of our DID numbers? Once added I know how to point it to an extension using MOC.

If the ported DID number is already in your number range of the IPS, then you simply create the extension to match the DID number. If the DID number is not in the same number range, it must first be programmed as extension level in CMD 200>1234>804, then allow number conversion to the PRI route 3518>rt>0, set the number of incoming digits (defaults to 4), CMD 3512>rt>3 = 4 digits, 2 = 3 digits. Then set CMD 7600>incoming number>to a table number,0000. CMD 7601>table number 0000>destination extension. Do the same for CMD 7602 (night mode).

Okay, I think I understand. I have several 251-660 numbers. The one I am porting is also a 251-660-XXXX number. I will be assigning it to extension 2252.
I know my incoming is set to three digits.
I looked at cmd 200>1234 and it said WRONG.
I am not sure what rt means.
I have command 5005>01 is set for 251-660
and I have 1212>2252>2442 (last four of DID)
and I have 1213>2252>01
Once I get the last three digits into 7600 I know how to assign them via your directions. That is the part I am unclear about.
Your help is greatly appreciated

CMD 200>1234> wrong means try fewer digits. 200>123>, 200>12, etc.

THank you!!! one step closer...It ended up being cmd 200>1>804.
Now what?
I know my number of incoming digits is three. For instance, my DID is 646 and shows as 019 in cmd 7600 (7600>646:019. How do I get 442 (the last 3 digits of the DID into cmd 804? I guess I am confused since I have three DID options 251-660 (the one I need for this line) 251-662 and 251-338. How does it know which one to use?

Ok Maybe a step back is needed. let's word this a bit differently. If the digits you recieve from your carrier are 646 you go to Cmd 7600 and enter them as you did. The result you got back 019 you now take into Cmd 7601>019:XXX
"XXX" is the number of the extension (or virtual) that will recieve that call. Now to Cmd 804.... There is no Cmd 804 that is the result you got for 1 in Cmd 200 and it means 1 is the starting digit of 4 digit extn numbers now the 1 for incoming may be being added in Cmd 7601 but you will have to get back to us with what you find. When we have this sorted out we will need to do the same for Cmd 7602 as 7601 sets the day destination and7602 sets the night destination. You may even have to set 7603 and 7604 if modes A & B are usd by your system.

Here is a full example:incoming number is 555-1444 to ring at x-550, and the PRI/T-1 is in trunk route 10. You are receiving 4 digits from Telco. Your extensions are 3 digits.

CMD 200>1>804 - allows 1000-1999 to be used as 4 digit numbers
CMD 200>5>803 - allows 500-599 to be used as 3 digit numbers
CMD 7600>1444>019 - sets incoming number to a table number
CMD 7601 (day) >019>550 - sets table number to extension
CMD 7602 (night) > 019>550 - sets table number to extension
CMD 3512>10>3 - sets TK RT to accept 4 digits from telco
CMD 3518>10>0 - allows TK RT to translate digits (looks at CMD 7600)

This may be a stupid question but why are you wasting digit 1 by setting it to 4 digit extensions. The indial numbers never hit the numbering plan because you are translating them on the way in so 1444 never gets considered by the system (1XXX for that matter assuming all are translated). I was always taught that the first thing that is applied is digit translation and then everything else!

This was only an example to the novice. In reality, the number plan would be tailored to the site and application.

Thanks so much for taking the time to help me. I just found out that the number is being ported next Thursday morning so I have a little time to get it done.

I am beginning to think that the tech who programmed my system didn't know what he was doing.
We use 4 digit extensions. All primary extensions begin with 2XXX. All digital extensions have a second line 1XXX. I have a few 3XXX extensions.

I put in 7600>1444 and got NONE


It seems that I get the four numbers from the carrier. In my case I get 662-8 from the carrier and 7600>646(the last three digits of my DID)>019 and 7601 and 7602 >019 show my extension 2226.


The DID I want to add to the PRI is 251-660-2442. Following the example of my extension. I know (somewhere 660-2 is in there because we have several DID numbers with those 4 beginning numbers) 442 needs to be in 7600 (which I still can't figure out how to get it assigned to a block). Do I just fine an empty block and assign 442 to it?

According to you last post, you are receiving 3 digits from telco (3512>10>2). In CMD 7600 input the last three digits of the incoming DID to find out if it is in the tables. If the number shows "none" in the 7600 command, then look for a table with nothing in it. Go to CMD 7601>000>, and scroll through it looking for no entry. That table will be unused and therefore available for your new number.

A good habit to get into is if possible use the table number (memory block as you wrote it) which matches the number you recieve. So for 442 I would have gone Cmd 7600>442>442 so as long as you keep it straight you can always follow where it is going without having to check 7600 and you don't have to search for spare memory blocks because if it is a new number there will be nothing using it's memory block.
