I am trying to add a 5th phone line to my CICS, I know the line is good as I have punched it down on my old line 4 and get tone, I have added it to the system as LINE025 and programmed it on a phone however when I press the line button I get dead air and then a message stating "NOT IN SERVICE" can anyone tell me what else I might need to do to get the line working?

System Version is SP: 30MN E12 NAT.

Thanks in advance.

Look under maintenance programming and see if the port/dn staus shows as the trunk number or as none.

If you show as none then the CICS does not recognize your LS or CI card, you may have to skip line 025 and try 026 or just replace the card.

BTW mn is CICS 4.0 software.

If voting could really change things, it would be illegal.

do you actually have a second card

ONLY 7 WEEKS TILL SKI SEASON STARTS

if it 30 mn as jerry says - it is a std s/w

so if you have a 2nd working card , you must be good to go
also just make sure it is punched down in the right pair

probably a power cycle/ reboot might help

Have you gone to maintenance and looked at the card? Does the system see a card there? Then disable...get out of programming, return to maint in new session and enable. See what happens. I had that trouble before, hope it helps.
