hi all, this is my first post here.

This is my computer setup:
KT880 delta-fisr (MOBO)
amd xp 3000+
80gb WD SE
TI-4200 128mb agp8x (great card for how old it is :))
Win xp pro SP2 all updates
originally 2 sticks of kingston hyperx 2x512mb (placed in first and third slot, wether it makes a difference or not lol)
placed another 512mb in the center slot.

Windows Xp says i only have 1gb of memory.

I've had problems in the past dealing with my bios and the FSB of my CPU, and my memory, but it is working with the CPU FSB set at 166 (wich totals 2167.# MHz) and memory set at 333MHz... i try my memory at 400MHz but windows has errors that make the computer reboot right as the windows loading screen shows.

If i have forgotten to give any information please tell me so i can get it posted, thanks for any help! :)

it is posssible that you have the memory setup as Dual Channel, meaning in order for the third 512mb stick to work you may need to either change the memory setting to normal or buy another 512mb to run it in Dual Channel...

i'm not sure where the setting for dual channel memory is, but i will try to sift through the bios and see if i can find anything.

thanks for the direction :)

Beemer101,

Normally, in the BIOS this function is referred to as "Memory Interleave".

Hope this helps

Also, you mentioned WinXP won't detect it, but what about the BIOS? Does it see the entire amount?

Normally, dual-channel can be in place for 2,3, or 4 DIMMs. A lot of motherboards out there do not require even numbers of RAM sticks. So, may or may not have anything to do with your problem, unless the one you added isn't compatible in dual-channel mode with the other two sticks.
