Add/Remove programs does not show option

I had to remove a Beta version of MS One Note yesterday. When I clicked on it, the remove button did not pop up. Anybody know why?

The install CD had an uninstall option, but, without that, the software would still be on my machine. I checked and several other programs also lacked the remove button. This is Win XP Pro.
