I inherited the MS network when I came to work for my present company. There are 2 server running at the moment, one of them is the DC and the other as workstation. The previous network person did not promote the 2nd server to member server. There are a few non-functioning programs on the server that I need to delete and also need to install terminal server on this server. When I go to the control panel, there is 2(two) Add/Remove Program icon and both of the are not function. Double click on it and it is not working. I have no idea what has been done to this server.
1) Is it better to reformat the drive and clean install??
or
2) Reinstall MS Server 2000 ontop of the old one and hopefully the missing link will reinstall itself??
Another problem is when I click on My Computer the page that comes up is without the "content pane" just the "detail pane" is visible.
Has anyone faced this situation and all feedback is really appreciated.
