Hi all,

I have a problem. I have 2 Dell Powervaults that I am using as my web servers. They are both exactly the same in terms of spec and configuration. They are running Windows 2003 Sever Appliance Centre with SP1.

I have put them both in a network load balanced cluster for redundancy. The problem have is I want to join both network cards (2 in each) together as an adaptive load balanced team. When I do this it causes my web pages to regularly disappear.

With the 2 cards in an adaptive fault tolerance team everything is fine.

I have been brief as I don't want the focus to come away from my actual problem.

Does anyone have any idea how I can get the 2 cards in each server together in a load balanced team and have them in a network load balanced cluster?

Thanks in advance.

very good case. i've never worked on a Team+NLB , someone has expeience before?

Don't use the Dell utility to team the cards. Use windows NLB as the result would be the same. Or check and make sure thet IIS is set to respond to "all assigned ip

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I use the Intel Proset software to team them, not the Dell software. My IIS configuration is set to the serve on my cluster IP. Does this help you?

Are the nics failing over? If so, it may be a switch issue causing your pages not to load (may need to use portfast on the switch ports). What about your DNS? Ensure it is pointing to only the virtual IP (especially if you have dynamic DNS running).

I do not think it is the switch configuration as all my documentation points towards this set up being possible. My DNS is fine and yes I am using dynamic DNS.
