Two weeks ago two of my young neices stayed a few days with us and they ask if they could use my PC to surf the net. I said yes of course. Shortly after that I am getting multiple pop ups on my screen at all times. I have tried spysweep and adaware and they find junk which I delete of course. Then I run Norton and finds other junk but can't delete them all for some reason. Any ideas how to fix this mess?

If at first you don't succeed, reboot!

Try turning running the spyware removal tools in safe mode (and just in case if running XP, turn off system restore).

Take a look at the FAQ in:
forum760

And if that doesn't work, then post to that forum. Your more likely to get a quicker response.

what you're going to need to do is figure out what you have left as far as pop ups and spyware. then do some research as to how to eradicate them from you machine through the registry. careful in what you delete and this can be very time consuming. i would have to agree in seeing if you can do a system restore to see what happens. if not, then you can just always rebuild.

System Restore? Is that like retoring the registry in Win98? I have done registry restore in Win98 but never on Win2K. How do you do that?

If at first you don't succeed, reboot!

System restore does not exist in Win2k.
