activex viewer 8 crashing ie6

I have CR8 running on my web server, which has been delivering reports happily for over a year now.

Recently i installed v8.5 onto my development machine to get a "feel" for it before installing it on the server. Now i cannot view the web reports from my machine, accessing them causes a "problem" in Internet explorer, which results in the browser shutting down. This problem only occurrs when i expect to see a parameter prompt(seems to be caused by crviewer.dll). Reports with no params can be viewed fine.

has anyone else experienced similar?

I didn't put two and two together until I read your post, but yes. I started using CR8.5 on my development machine a week ago, and IE crashes when I run some reports.
