Hi,

I wrote a foxpro 6.0 program that uses the ole kodak imaging control and it works fine but when I run it over my network I get an error on those computers that don't actually have the kodak imaging software! It there a way that I can make so they don't actually need the software on their computer? I not that the point of an *.ocx file? Please help!

Thanks
Frank

If you use the Setup Wizard to create the distribution disks, you can include these files automatically. Make sure the ActiveX column contains check marks for the ActiveX controls you’re distributing. When you do this, the Setup program created by the Setup Wizard will ensure that COM components are registered properly on the user’s computer when the application is installed.

Ensure that the OCX files are copied in the application directory used for ditribution disk creation.

Hope this helps

Isn't there a legal problem in using a propriatory .dll or .ocx? I'd think Junkmail might need to read the legal notices on the Kodak software before including it in a software package of his own.

I am not selling the software it is for my own internal use but I believe I would be ok either way.

Thanks

The legal issues is you have to own win95 and on up.

to install the ocx it must be in the system32 directory of WinNT or System directory of Windows.

by calling an ocx or dll it automatically registers it in the Windows Registry(not sure about this) and to the application

or use the regtlib to register a library to the Windows Registry
