active directory

Cant access my active directory, getting a pop up
Naming information cannot be located because:
The logon attempt failed
Contact your sys. admin...........

Any clues to solving this, Ive shutdown,restarted didnt seem to help.

Sounds like a DNS problem; make sure the TCP/IP settings point to the DNS server hosting your AD domain name space.

Some back ground, It all started when the Event log was getting a "full" popup. so I have ran stinger, house calls and adaware6, said it cleaned some stuff.and everything seemed fine.
but in my event log in system log I am still getting a
Warning source(w35vc) event(101)
Warning source(w32time) event(11)
XError source(MrxSmb) event(8003)

Its not filling up now and some of these events are happening when no one is here
